Funeral servies for Mrs. Carl Dieterich, 76, who died at her home in St. Ansgar Monday morning, September 5, 1960 were held Wednesday, September 7, 1960 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Martin L. Russert of Osage officiating.
Bertha Emelie Wilhelmina Kroneman was born December 10, 1883 in Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Louise (nee Vedder) Kroneman. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran church in Rock Township January 1, 1884 by the Rev. J. Zeilinger. She was confirmed at the same church on April 11, 1897 by the Rev. J. Westenberger.
She was united in marriage with Carl J. Dieterich, of near Osage, on October 6, 1904. They made their home on a farm in Floyd county until 1919, when they moved to a farm south of St. Ansgar. They resided there until their retirement in December of 1957, when they moved to their present home in St. Ansgar.
Five children were born to this union: Ervin H., Wilmer P., Lola Clara (Mrs. Carl Kittleson), Lawrence H. and Arnold E., all of the St. Ansgar vicinity.
Mrs. Dieterich died at the age of 76 years, eight months and 25 days.
She is survived by her husband, Carl J., her five children, 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, also one sister, Mrs. Otto Steinberg, and one brother, Arthur Kroneman of St. Ansgar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Paul Kroneman, a sister, Mrs. Herman Schuttler, and a sister who died in infancy.
Burial was in the Immanuel cemetery with Rev. Russert in charge of the committal services.
