Delia A. Erdmann

OSAGE, IOWA — Delia A. Erdmann, age 90, of Osage, died Thursday (March 31, 2005) at Faith Home in Osage.

Delia was born Jan. 28, 1915, in Platte, S.D., the daughter of William and Agnes (Quinn) Overkamp. Delia's mother died when she was small, after which she came to live in Osage with her grandparents, William and Anna Overkamp. She graduated from Osage High School, then attended business college in Waterloo.

On Sept. 20, 1940, Delia married Harold W. Erdmann, in Platte, S.D. Harold and Delia started the Motor Inn garage in Osage. Starting in 1968, Delia worked as an assistant to the Osage City Clerk. She became city clerk in 1973 and held that position until she retired in 1987. Delia not only served the city in her job, but also dearly loved the town and citizens of Osage. Delia was very active at attending social events around town. She was also a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with the Rev. Mark Reasoner officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Osage.

Visitation is from to 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

She is survived by two daughters: Laurie Erdmann Martin of St. Ansgar and Julie Erdmann of San Diego, Calif.; one granddaughter, Tara D. Martin of Tacoma, Wash.; two great-grandchildren: Marshun and Delayna Martin of Tacoma, Wash.; and one sister-in-law, Ruby Erdmann of Osage.

She was preceded by her grandparents; her parents; her husband, Harold W. Erdmann in 1990; and a brother, Patrick Overkamp,
