OSAGE, IOWA — Paul R. Naig, age 65, of Osage died Saturday (August 21, 2004) at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. Mark Reasoner officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by Osage American Legion Post 278.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage where there will be a scripture service at 7 p.m.

Paul was born December 21, 1938, in Osage, the son of Nels and Arlene (Sewright) Naig. He attended school in Osage and graduated from Osage High School in 1957. Paul entered the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and served 26 years, retiring as a senior master sergeant.

He was united in marriage to Joyce A. Kleeberger on August 17, 1963 in Claremont, Minn. Following Paul’s retirement from the Air Force, they returned to Osage where he worked for Erdman Motor Co. in Osage, Lake Chevrolet in Clear Lake, and Fox River Mills in Osage. Paul retired in 2003. He was a volunteer for the CASA Program.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Naig of Osage; his children, Kelly (Steve) Stotts of Des Moines, Doug (Mesa) Naig of Osage, and Kara Zimmerman of Osage; seven grandchildren; and one brother, John Naig of Seattle, Wash.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Greta Creek
