GALEN ‘BUB’ CONRAD
RICEVILLE, IOWA — Galen “Bub” Conrad, 63, of Riceville, died Sunday (Feb. 22, 2004) at the Riceville Nursing Home in Riceville after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Riceville. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.
Friends may call at the Conway Funeral Home in Riceville from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and for one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.
Galen was born on April 4, 1940, in Mitchell County, the son of Carl and Dora (Bird) Conrad. He attended school in Little Cedar, Iowa, and graduated in 1958.
On August 17, 1973, he was united in marriage to Frances (Ray) Armstrong at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Bub worked road maintenance.
He is survived by his wife, Fran, of Riceville; three children, Steven (Judy) Armstrong, of Fort Worth, Texas, Teresa (Mark) Klein, of Riceville, and Barbra Hoglan, of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maryann (Roger) Schnell, of Osage, and Sandy (Dan) Vitek, of Milwaukee, Wis.; and one brother, Dennis (Deb) Conrad, of Little Cedar, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
