OSAGE, IOWA — Gladys Mable Shoger, 94, of Osage, died Wednesday (July 16, 2003) at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Gladys was born May 27, 1909, in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, the daughter of Gustav and Bertina (Torblaa) Olson. She was educated in rural schools, and graduated in 1927 from Cedar Valley Seminary in Osage.

Gladys was united in marriage to Fred Shoger on Jan. 19, 1929 in Osage. They farmed in Rock Township, retiring and moving to Osage in 1970. Fred died January 20, 1976.

She was a active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a volunteer at Mitchell County Regional Health Center and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Christian F. Gugel officiating. Interment will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery in rural Osage.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

She is survived by one son, Dale (Kathryn) Shoger of Osage; one daughter, Darlene (Arthur) Anderson of Big Lake, Minn.; four granddaughters, Linda (Kenneth) Brandau, of Rudd, Donna (Robert) Counsell, of Osage, Judy (Andreas) Schramm, of St. Paul, Minn., and Marcia (James) Rosendahl, of Osage, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; two brothers, Olaf Olson and Glenn Olson; a son, Duane Shoger; grandson, Paul Anderson, and a great-grandson, Daniel Counsell.

Gladys Shoger, age 94, of Osage, died on Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
