OSAGE, IOWA — Funeral Services for Kathryn Mary Dahlke, 48, of Osage, will be held at 6 p.m. today at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa, with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Church Cemetery in St. Ansgar.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the church.

Kathy died on Sunday (July 13, 2003) at the Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home Osage is in charge of arrangements.

Kathy was born Jan. 25, 1955, in Albert Lea, Minn., the daughter of Floyd and Elinor (Strouf) Dahlke.

She was baptized on March 17, 1957, at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church by the Rev. Eugene V. Holland. She was confirmed on May 24, 1981, at First Lutheran Church by the Rev. Stephen Engelstad, where she was a lifelong member.

Kathy attended school in Osage and worked at a work shelter in Charles City and Elma.

She loved her family and friends very much and had a sweet smile for everyone, especially babies.

She found enjoyment in simple pleasures, making a cup of coffee for company, listening to old time music, watching the Dukes of Hazzard, eating ice cream, and shopping for others in the J C. Penney Catalog.

She was a special child of God and we will miss her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Dahlke.

Kathy is survived by, her mother, Elinor Dahlke, of Osage; two sisters, Bertha Moravec and her husband, Alvis J., of Owatonna, Minn., and Barbara Strain and her husband, Eugene C., of Kasson, Minn.; one brother, LeRoy Dahlke and his wife, Janet, of Riceville; and several nieces and nephews.
