OSAGE, IOWA - Florence M. Badker, 88, of Osage, died Sunday (May 25, 2003), at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with the Rev. Philip Recker officiating.
Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Riceville. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, where there will be a Rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a Scripture Service at 7 p.m.
Florence was born on Jan. 28, 1915, in Riceville, the daughter of James and Emma (Auringer) Dargan. She married George Badker Sr. on March 19, 1931, in Adams, Minn. They made their home in the Osage area. George Sr. died March 11, 1992.
Florence enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, and her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Perrin (Dick), Osage; Norma Colgrove (Don), Black Hawk, S.D.; Nancy Potter, Osage; four sons, Gregory Badker, Osage; Larry Badker (Isabel), Platteville, Colo.; Doug Badker, (Sue), Osage; Bernie Badker (Deidre), New Hartford; one brother, Paul Dargan, Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Rosemary Kinter, Des Moines, and Agnes Kleckner, Osage; 41 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Emma Dargan; husband George Badker Sr.; two sons, George Badker Jr., and an infant son, William; one daughter, Constance Duren; three brothers, one sister, two grandsons, two granddaughters, and one great-grandson.
