EDWARD L. STAYNER

OSAGE, IOWA - Edward L. Stayner, age 64, of rural Osage, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2003, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Edward was born on August 17, 1938, in Mason City, the son of Wilbur R. and Susie O. (Askelson) Stayner. He graduated from Northwood High School in 1958.

Edward was united in marriage to Madelyn Carol Cline on April 16, 1966 at the Methodist Church in Charles City. They farmed in Northwood, Wykoff, Minn. and then moved to a farm near Osage in 1971. Edward loved restoring old tractors.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1202 390th St. of rural Osage, with the Rev. Wayne Ellingson officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and one hour before services at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Madelyn Carol Stayner, of rural Osage; two daughters, Sara Hardy and her husband, Les, of Orchard and their children, Rachel and Daniel Shanan Hackensmith, of Osage and her children, Logan, Lucas and Desiree; three sons, Timothy Stayner of Osage, Theadoar Stayner and his wife, Amanda, of Nora Springs and their daughter, Madelynn, and Samuel Stayner of Osage; one sister, Kathleen Corell and her husband, Roger, of Mason City; and one brother, Grayling Stayner and his wife, Marilyn, of Northwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
