Leo C. Ross, age 83, of Osage, died on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 1, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. Rev. Dennis Hanson officiated. Interment was in the Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City, with military rites conducted at the grave by the Osage American Legion Post 278.

Leo was born on February 27, 1919 at Bassett, the son of August and Frances (Schilling) Ross. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He farmed southeast of Cowell and also was employed at the Floyd Quarry until his retirement.

Leo married Vera (O'Donnell) Miller in 1961, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. He was a member of the Osage American Legion Post 278.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Leo is survived by his wife, Vera Ross of Osage; two step-sons, Duane Miller of Boaz, Alabama and Harold "Tub" Miller of Leland, Iowa; five step-grandchildren, Ken Miller, Scott Miller, Marla Sgarbossa, Michael Britt and Harold Britt, Jr.; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
