Funeral services for the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough, 68, former pastor of First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, who died Friday, October 4, 1968 at a Spring Valley, Minnesota hospital, were held on Monday, October 7, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spring Valley with the Rev. Reuben Groehler and Dr. Alvin Rogness officiating.

Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery at St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa.

Olaf A. Langehough, son of Amund and Margaret (Walhus) Langehough, was born on October 25, 1899 in Mabel, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed by his father.

He graduated from Montevideo high school, St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, and Luther Seminary. On June 18, 1925 he was married to Hazel Moline, and to this union was born two children.

He served Hope Lutheran church in Ladysmith, Wisconsin from 1925 to 1927. He then accepted a call to serve at First Lutheran church, St. Ansgar, Iowa, and did so for 29 years. He also served at Deer Creek Lutheran church at Carpenter, Iowa for many years. In 1956 he accepted a call from the Home Mission Board to establish a new congregation at Vancouver, Washington, and served for 11 years there, as pastor of Messiah Lutheran church. He terminated his years in the active ministry on October 8, 1967.

On November 1, 1967 Rev. Langehough came to Spring Valley, Minnesota, to serve as visitation pastor for Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Following a brief illness he died on October 4, 1968.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel; a daughter, Mary of Denver, Colorado; a son, the Rev. John Langeough of Lemmon, South Dakota; five grandchildren, two sisters, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The family prefers memorials to the church or the Community Memorial hospital in Spring Valley, Minnesota.

NOTES: His wife Hazel was born on Oct. 5, 1899 and died in January 1985 in/of Jefferson county, Colorado.
