ALBERT WILK IS FATALLY SIEZED AT WORK IN WOODS

--With Two Companions Was Clearing Bushes From Land When Striken--

Albert Wilk, a well-known farmer living southwest of Osage, died suddenly Monday afternoon from a heart attack in the woods on his property about six miles north of Rudd.

Mr. Wilk, accompanied by two small sons of the Rev. Fitzelmann, pastor of the Presbyterian church of that vicinity, had gone to the woods to pull up goosberry bushes, and were using a horse. They had worked all the morning, and returned after lunch to continue. A nephew of Mr. Wilk, Alvin Dieterich, had passed through the woods, driving some cattle, and spoke with him just minutes before, and he seemed as usual.

However, he leaned over to pull at a bush, exclaimed, and fell to the ground, dying instantly -- July 9, 1934. The boys called Alvin back, and help was summoned. Coroner Shelledy made the usual examination, but found his death from natural causes.

Mr. Wilk is survived by his wife, Amelia Marie (nee Dieterichs) Wilk, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. George Meister, Mrs. Ed Hoel and Mrs. Louis Frese, Osage; Mrs. Charles Kaufman and Mrs. Henry Kaufman, of South Dakota; Mrs. John Heusman and Henry Wilk of Mitchell county.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, July 11, 1934, with Rev. F.A. Brauer in charge in charge. Burial was made in the Calvary Cemetery, near the church.

Mr. Wilk was born on March 11, 1863, to Albert Wilk Sr. and Christiane Emden.

NOTE: Funeral would have been at St. John's Lutheran Church, Cedar township, Mitchell county, Iowa.
