Funeral services for Henry C. Dieterichs were held last Sunday, June 21, 1942, at Immanuel's Lutheran church in St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa, at 2:30 o'clock p.m. Rev. Paul Brammer officiated at the church services and also at the burial service at the church cemetery.
Henry Christian Dieterichs, son of Herman Dieterichs and Christina Kneisel was born in Cedar township, Mitchell county, Iowa, on Sept. 27, 1869. He was baptized by a traveling missionary by the name of Faehr, and confirmed by Pastor E. Wiegner of St. Ansgar on March 30, 1884.
On June 12, 1894 the deceased was joined in marriage with Ida Treichel. This marriage was blessed with two sons. His wife preceded him in death, Nov. 30, 1911. On Sept. 27, 1913 he was married to Miss Olga Ahlf, and two daughters were born to this union.
Mr. Dieterichs spent all his life on the farm, beginning in Floyd county, and coming to St. Ansgar in 1901.
The deceased, having a rugged constitution, enjoyed good health until he suffered a heart attack about three years ago, from which he never fully recovered. Last Wednesay morning, June 17, 1942, he was stricken with a heart stroke and passed away at 9:30.
Mr. Dieterichs had attained the age of 72 years, 8 months and 20 days. He is survived by his widow, two sons, two daughters, two grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.
