Glen Lloyd Cady

Little Glen Lloyd Cady, youngest son of Ray and Ida Cady, was born June 21, at Mitchell, Iowa, and died October 17 at St. Paul's hospital, Saskatoon. When one and a half years old, he came with his parents to Bradwell, where the past five years of his life has been spent.

Glen was a sweet happy child, loving everyone and was dearly loved in return. After two days illness on October 6, he was taken to Saskatoon for an operation for appendicitis. For a few days he seemed to be gaining as well as the doctors expected from the seriousness of his case but October 14 he underwent a second operation which was unsuccessful, and on October 17, he was operated on again, which he was not strong enough to survive.

His doctors, nurses, the sisters and patients who knew him, learned to love him for his sweet patience and dear smile with which he never failed to greet each one who entered his room. When his parents told him how they wished they could bear the pain for him, he always said "I had rather it was me than you." When asked how are you, Glen, he always answered, "All right" except once he said, "I don't feel very well."

Besides his parents, Glen leaves two brothers, Charles and Paul, to mourn and miss him and had a baby brother to meet him on the other shore.

Little Glen's remains were brought back to Bradwell, where October 20, funeral services were held in the church where he had attended church and Sunday school during his short life. The twenty-five beautiful floral pieces, the draping of the alter, railing, cradle roll chart and the vacant chair among the mourners, showed Glen, though gone, was not forgotten, as did the closing of all business places in town during the funeral, after which he was laid to rest in the Bradwell cemetery.

Oh, how we shall miss our darling,
All the coming weary years. - Allen,
