March 30, 1904John A. Cooper an old resident of this village died at 2:30 o'clock Thursday morning, March 16th at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nitsche of 3519 5th Avenue,Chicago, aged 68 years and 6 months.
Mr. Cooper was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cooper and was born in Dovenshire, England, coming from there to Oakfield in 1852, remaining here until 1861, when he went to Bloomington, Illinois. In 1867, he returned to Oakfield and in 1868, married Miss Mary Way of this village, then returned again to Bloomington.
In 1869, they went to Shirly and began house keeping, living there until 1886 when they moved to Little Cedar, Iowa, where they have since resided with the exception of a year spent in Oakfield.

The funeral was held from the Methodist church at 2:30 Monday afternoon, the Rev. G. E. Price officiating.
Mr. Cooper was a loving father, a kind neighbor and was respected by all who knew him.
