Anthony James Barberi, (known as A.J. to his family and friends), 19, of Pensacola, Florida went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 11, 2008. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Striffler and Hanby Funeral Home in North Phenix City, Alabama.
He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on June 13, 1989 to Kellie Shelton Barberi and Anthony Barberi. He started A-1 Lawn Service while living in Osage and could often be seen driving his John Deere mower around town. A 2007 graduate of Christian Liberty Academy, he attended Messenger College in Joplin, Missouri in the fall of 2007.
A.J. is survived by his mother, Kellie, and sister, Kristen, both of Pensacola, Florida; grandparents Jim and Arlene Shelton of Osage, Iowa; great-grandmother Genevieve Funk of Palm City, Florida; aunt and uncle Susan and Mike Aleckson and cousins Josh and Dylan of Joplin, Missouri.
A.J. will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends who love him and anxiously wait to be with him again in Heaven.
