FRED TUCKER DIES
WAS COUNTY PIONEERFuneral services were held Saturday, July 6 at the Champion Funeral Home for Fred Douglas Tucker, 79, pioneer resident of Mitchell county, who died at this home on July 4. The Rev. Glen S. Hartong, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted the services and burial was made in the Osage cemetery.
Fred Douglas Tucker was born on November 11, 1866, to William and Fannie Tucker, in Mitchell County. He had been a resident of Mitchell county, all his life, living in and around Osage. He was a farmer until 1921 and since that time had worked for the county and state until advanced age forced him to retire.
On March 20, 1889, he was united in marriage to Clara Morse in Charles City. To this union four daughters were born.
Surviving are his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Stanley Noah of Charles City; Mrs. Hugh Johnson of Floyd; and Mrs. Irene Roehr of Burbank Calif.; one brother, Bert of Guttenberg; one sister, Mrs. Willard Thatcher of Freeport, Texas; seven grandchldren; and three great-grandchildren. One daughter, one sister, and two half brothers, Elwood and Myron, preceded him in death.
