OSAGE, IOWA -- Eunice Meighan, age 100, of Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa, and formerly of New Hampton, Iowa, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Sister Millie Leuenberger, OSF, officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 26, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and will continue one hour before services at the funeral home.

Eunice was born February 24, 1908, at Bassett, the daughter of Willard and Julia (Albertson) Barrett. She attended school in Bassett.

Eunice was united in marriage in 1925 to Donald Knapp and to this union three children were born. In 1933 she was united in marriage to Thomas Meighan and to this union five children were born. Thomas died in 1979. Eunice enjoyed dancing, shopping, family gatherings and going out to eat.

In 2002 she moved to Faith Lutheran Home where she enjoyed their activities.

Eunice is survived by three daughters: Dorothy Meineke of Charles City, Beverly Nikolas of Osage and Connie (Ray) Kinsel of Evansdale; by three sons: Thomas Meighan of Charles City, Robert (Joan) Meighan of Phoenix, Arizona, and Roger Meighan of McGrath, Minnesota; 33 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband; by three brothers; two sisters; by a daughter, Betty Barrett; by one son, Leland (Bud) Knapp; by two grandsons; by one granddaughter; and by two great-grandsons.

Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of the arrangements -- 641-732-3706.
