Ruth Hannam, age 88, of Osage, died Friday, January 18, 2008, at the Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Osage with Rev. Steven M. Kellett and Rev. Rick Magstadt officiating. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Ruth was born August 15, 1919, near Osage, the daughter of Lewis and Ellen (Nelson) Myrtle. Ruth taught in rural schools in the Osage area. She married Robert Hannam on January 2, 1945, in Osage. They lived in Osage all of their married life. Robert died November 27, 1990. Ruth was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, and was one of the founding families of the church. She was also a member of the Cedar Valley Retired School Personnel.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Carol (Bob) Chapman of St. Paul Park, Minnesota and children, DeeAnn, Perry and Brad; Jean (Dan) Kringle of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and children, Laura, Amy and Austin; two sons, Philip Hannam of Bloomington, Minnesota and children, Marissa, Joelle and Christiana; Dean (Diana) Hannam of Houston, Texas, and children, Jeffrey and Jason; seven great-grandchildren, Josiah, Elliana, Hope, Peyton, Kinsley, Camille and Scarlett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a sister, Grace Gilbert; a brother, Owen Myrtle; and a daughter-in-law, Claudelle Hannam.
