Mr. and Mrs. Charles Horton
Former Osage Couple, Died In Oregon

Mrs. A. J. Shoars received word Friday of the death of her youngest sister, Mrs. Charles Horton, 69, and of the latter's husband, 75. Both succombed to cancer. Mr. Horton died a couple of weeks before his wife, but her condition was so serious that his body was held in order that both funerals might be held at the same time.

The double funeral service was held in Portland, Ore. Saturday, April 5, and burial was made in a Cemetery.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Horton (Frances Parmalee) were born in Floyd county but they came to Mitchell county when young.

Their marriage took place in Osage fifty years ago. Mr. Horton was a painter and paperhanger by trade. They moved west about thirty years ago.

Surviving is a daughter, Laura who is married and living in Portland. A son Lloyd died in an accident a few years ago.

Mr. and Mrs Horton visited in Osage three years ago and went on east from here in an extended vacation trip.
