Eugene William "Dude" Krebsbach, 86, of Stacyville, Mitchell Colunty, Iowa, died on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville.

A Memorial Mass was held on Monday, October 8, 2007, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, with Msgr. John Hemann officiating.

Inurnment was in the Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Stacyville.

Dude was born on July 31, 1921, at Stacyville, the son of Anton and Rose (Wingert) Krebsbach. He attended country school in the rural Stacyville area.

He married Barbara "Bobbie" Gilchrist on March 27, 1941, in Osage. Dude was self-employed as a farmer and also hauled livestock and grain.

Dude is survived by his wife, Barbara "Bobbie" Krebsbach of Stacyville; and by two sons, Gary (Diane) Krebsbach of Osage, and Larry (Judie) Krebsbach of Traer; by a daughter, Deb (Ken) Kozak of Stacyville; by a son-in-law, John Buhrman of Cedar Rapids; by a brother, Marvin Krebsbach of Stacyville; by three sisters-in-law: Ardella Krebsbach of Adams, Minnesota,
Catherine Hennings of Davenport, and Mary Ann Owen of Cedar Rapids; by a brother-in-law, Dick Gilchrist of Gardnerville, Nevada; by 14 grandchildren; and by 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by a daughter, Barbara Buhrman; by a brother, Raymond Krebsbach; by an infant sister; by an infant daughter, and by a grandson, Mark Buhrman.

Arrangements were by Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage -- 641-732-3706.
