Funeral services for Katherine Bullis, age 81, of Osage, Iowa, were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with Rev. George Hope officiating. Burial was at the First Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar, Iowa. Katherine died on Friday, June 15, 2007, at the Heritage Care Center in Mason City, Iowa.
Katherine was born on April 23, 1926, at Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Gilman and Myrtle (Hansen) Rust. She graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1943. Katherine attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, and received her teaching certificate.
In September of 1947, she married Vallejo "Joe" Bullis at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in Charles City and St. Ansgar before moving to Osage in 1954. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by a daughter, Nancy Bullis; and by three brothers: Gene, Charles, and Allen Rust.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Vallejo "Joe" Bullis of Osage; by a son, Ronald Bullis of Mason City; and by a daughter, Susan Bullis of Mason City.
