Dr. Larry D. Libersky, age 60 of Magdalena, New Mexico, formerly of Lyle, Minnesota, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dr. Libersky was born June 11, 1946 in Austin, Minnesota, to Wayne and Evelyn (Reuter) Libersky.
He graduated from Lyle High School, Austin Junior College and Winona State College where he earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree. He served in the Army for two years.
A resident of Magdalena, New Mexico since 1988, Larry earned a PhD in Physics from New Mexico Tech. He worked for NMT for 18 years, then began a new career at Los Alamos National Labs, where he worked for ten years. Physics was his profession, which he loved, but his passion was playing trumpet and guitar, composing his own songs and writing many articles concerning spiritual matters published on his website: www.mountainofgod.com .
He is survived by his wife, Dee Libersky, Magdalena, New Mexico; by his mother: Evelyn Libersky, Lyle, Minnesota; by his sons: Jason Libersky (Manuela), Albuquerque, New Mexico, Seth Brown, Albuquerque, New Mexico; and his daughter, Rachel (Carlos) Ortiz, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Libersky and his grandparents.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, with the Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating.
Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona, Iowa with military honors by American Legion in Lyle.
