Norbert J. Neuerburg, age 93, of Osage, Iowa, died Friday, February 23, 2007, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Norbert was born October 11, 1913, in Wadena, Minnesota, the son of Nicholas and Louise (Tabery) Neuerburg.

He married Estella Mandler on June 29, 1938, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. They began their married life in Waterloo, where Norbert worked at Rath Packing Company. They then farmed in Minnesota, after which they farmed for 30 years near Cresco, Iowa. Norbert also hauled milk for several years for the Schley Cheese Company and drove a school bus for several years for the Howard-Winneshiek Community School District. He retired from farming and moved to Osage in 1986. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Knights of Columbus.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Estella in 1997; his parents; and two brothers, Bernard and Lawrence.

Norbert is survived by two sons, Joseph of Traverse City, Mich., and Ronald and wife Marilyn of Eldora; four grandchildren, Troy, Michael, Elizabeth, and Thomas Neuerburg; three sisters, Marie, Bertilla, and Cyrilla; three brothers, Leo, Herbert, and Clement; three sisters-in-law, Leona Rogers and Lucille Hultman of Osage, and Vivian Neuerburg of Rock Island, Ill. and special friend, Beulah Cockrum of Osage.

Arrangements were by the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, (641) 732-3706.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, February 28, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m.

The Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, was in charge of the arrangements.
