Marlys Dass, 73, of Silver City, New Mexico, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007 at Gila Regional Medical Center. A celebration of life service was held Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar. Inurnment followed at the Grafton Cemetery, Grafton, Iowa.

Dass was born Dec. 13, 1933 in Osage, Iowa, to Selmer and Florence (Meyer) Sponheim.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin; daughters Susan Ruhoff and Lisa Braun; stepchildren Susan, Dianne, Gary and Karen and 13 grandchildren.
