Obituary-Parrish

Orville Eugene Parrish was born on February 2, 1898, in Burr Oak township. When 14 years of age he moved with his parents to their present home at Little Cedar.

He graduated from the Little Cedar high school in 1917, and the year following attended the Austin Business college, but was forced by ill health to give up his school work before the year was over. Last spring he went to Busteed, Mont., where he spent the summer with his uncle John Hungerford.

He entered the Sweeny automobile school in Kansas City, Missouri, about six weeks ago and would have graduated April 22, but was suddenly taken ill and passed away at the Sweeny hospital April 24, at the age of 21 years, 2 months and 22 days.

At the age of 11 he requested baptism and united with the Baptist church, where his musical talent has been a great help and much appreciated. He was especially gifted in music playing almost any instrument and it was largely through him the orchestra at Little Cedar was organized and which he successfully led for several years.

At the age of 4 he received an injury from which he never fully recovered and caused him much inconvenience, which he bore with fortitide and his cheery, happy disposition made him a favorite with young and old. He was ambitious beyond his strength and never content to be idle.

One sister having preceded him in death, he leaves to mourn his sudden departure his father,
mother, one brother, and a large circle of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday afternoon by Dr. A. M. Vance, of Osage.
