Death of Mrs. Thos. W. Norton.

Rose Anne Carroll was born at New Haven, Iowa, September 29, 1871, and died at her home Sept. 11, 1909, age 37 years, 11 months, 13 days. She spent her childhood on her father's farm, received her education in the public schools there and in Minneaplois. She spent eight years as a teacher in the district schools around New Haven. She was married to Thomas W. Norton September 29, 1894.

Besides a loving husband, she leaves three children, Carroll, Joseph, and Laura Norton, a mother, five brothers, and four sisters to mourn the loss of a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister.

She had a beautiful character. Her patience, humility, and charity endeared her to all with whom she came in contact. She was a devoted member of the Catholic church. Her last words to her husband, "I am praying while I work" was an example of her life. She was truly a devoted wife and mother and was happiest in her home laboring with her husband and children.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Father Barry at New Haven, September 13. A large number of friends and neighbors assembled to pay their last tribute to a kind friend and neighbor.
