Funeral services for Clayton "Gramps" Benttine, age 77, of Riceville, were held on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery. Clayton died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at Stacyville Community Nursing Home, Stacyville, Iowa.
He is survived by a daughter Elizabeth (John) Krause, three sons, Jim (Kim) Benttine, John Benttine, and Curt (Rebecca) Benttine; three brothers, Don (Mary Ann) Benttine, Lester (Janice) Benttine, and LeRoy (Joanne) Benttine; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
