St. Ansgar, Iowa -- Arnold (Arnie) Bublitz, 96, of St. Ansgar died November 14, 2006 at Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar with Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Arnold was born August 9, 1910, the son of Reinold and Martha (Diedrich) Bublitz in Newburg Township, Mitchell County, Iowa.

Arnold was united in marriage to Wilma Lange on October 23, 1930. They made their home in Mitchell and Worth County, farming all their lives until retiring in 1975 and moving to St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma; son Duane; three brothers, Wilmer, Harvey and Lawrence; and a grandson Curtis Bublitz.

He is survived by one sister Elenora Boerjan; son Robert and wife Pat of St. Ansgar, two daughters Shirley and husband Curtis Sheets of Iowa City, and Delores and husband Richard Trettin of St. Ansgar; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were made by Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, Iowa. (641) 713-4920.
