AUSTIN, MINNESOTA -- A funeral Mass will be held for Marlin Eugene Marcks at 1 p.m. Saturday at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin with the Rev. Virgil Duellman officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.

Mr. Marcks, 66, of Route 5, Austin, a retired Pepsi-Cola sales representative, died Wednesday (June 23, 1998) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

He was born Dec. 14, 1931, in St. Ansgar, Iowa, and graduated from Austin High School. On Aug. 26, 1950, he married Sonya Schrieber and they were later divorced. Mr. Marcks owned and operated Pepsi-Cola Distributing in Austin from 1962 to 1974. He retired recently as a regional sales representative at Pepsi-Cola Bottling in Rochester.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Marcks of Austin; two sons, Mike and Brian, both of Austin; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Elizabeth Marcks of Bloomington, Minn.; and a sister, Dorothy Chapman of Austin. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and noon to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin where there will be a wake service at 7 p.m. Friday.
