Funeral services for Bert G. Decker, 79, of rural Stacyville, Iowa, who died February 27, 1983 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, were held March 2 at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage, Iowa, with the Rev. Gaylord Grant, pastor of the Mona Lutheran church, officiating.

During his lifetime Mr. Decker held numerous offices in the Union Presbyterian church and was presently serving as president of the cemetery association of the church. He was also active in the Mitchell County Historical Society, Farm Bureau and county Republican party.

Mr. Decker married Grace Haugen on December 25, 1923, and they lived in the stacyville area all of their married life.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; by two sons: Darrell of San Diego, California, and Lester of Osage; one daughter, Mary of Washington, D.C.; by seven grandchildren; by nine great-grandchildren; by one sister, Mrs. Maynard (Edith) Leatsler of Roswell, New Mexico; and by several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the Union Presbyterian cemetery north of Stacyville.
