Funeral services for Alvin H. Johnson, 76, of Orchard, who died February 23 at the White House Nursing Home in Osage, were held February 26 at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Osage, Iowa, with the Rev. Joseph Nesheim and the Rev. Harold Larsen officiating.

Alvin Harry Johnson was born January 8, 1907 south of St. Ansgar, Iowa, the son of George and Helen (Halverson) Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar.

He married Ruth Von Bergen on October 14, 1930 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua. They farmed in Orchard for 51 years.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Selmer, Morris and Kenneth.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; by one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Doris) Condon of Pierre, South Dakota.; and by two granddaughters, Doreen and Annette Condon of Spearfish, South Dakota.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery.
