ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Services for Irma Vervaecke, 88, of St. Ansgar, who died Thursday at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ansgar Catholic Church; burial in St. Ansgar Cemetery; a rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar.
She is survived by her husband, Cyril; a daughter, Elsie Hubbard of St. Ansgar and a son, Albert of St. Ansgar; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

St. Ansgar CatholicFuneral services for Mrs. Cyriel (Irma) Vervaecke, 88, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, August 25, were held August 29 at the St. Ansgar Catholic Church with the Rev. John P. Smith officiating.
Irma Sylvia (Varnewyck) Vervaecke was born on July 27, 1895 in Aersella, Belgium. She was baptized in the Catholic faith July 30, 1895, and completed eighth grade education in Belgium. She married Cyriel Vervaecke on May 29, 1915, and two children were born to them.
The Vervaeckes arrived in America in August 1919. They lived on a farm near London, Minnesota for two years, and then moved to the Carpenter area where they farmed for many years. In 1968 they retired to their home in St. Ansgar. For the past few years Mrs. Vervaecke had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center here.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Vervaecke is survived by her husband, Cyriel of St. Ansgar; one son, Albert, rural St. Ansgar; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Elsie) Eller of Hubbard; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery with Rev. Smith in charge of committal services.
