Funeral services for Earl A. Kuntz, 71, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, who died August 19, 1983, at Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa, were held August 23 at the Emmanuel Lutheran church in Grafton, with the Rev. Gary Panko and the Rev. E.C. Franke officiating.

Earl A. Kuntz was born November 26, 1911 in Barton township, Worth county, Iowa, the son of Fred and Lydia (Bruesewitz) Kuntz. He was baptized January 28, 1912 by the Rev. John Landdeck at Emmanuel Lutheran church in Grafton. He was confirmed April 10, 1927 by the Rev. Carl Landdeck at the same church.

He married Alice Wilde on September 15, 1953 in St. John's Lutheran church, Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. He farmed in the area his entire life. He served on the Grafton Church Board at Emmanuel Lutheran church and also was on the Barton Township School Board. He was a lifelong member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton.

Mr. Kuntz was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Craig.

He is survived by his wife, Alice of St. Ansgar; two sons: Garry and Harlan, both of St. Ansgar; one daughter, Mrs. Duane (Cleone) King of Floyd.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; six sisters: Mrs. Albin (Ruth) Krueger of Osage, Mrs. Glenn (Ella) Priem of St. Ansgar, Mrs. Elmer (Pearl) Rosenberg of St. Ansgar, Mrs. Clarence (Ethel) Walk of Grafton, Marcella Kuntz of Mason City, Mrs. Clair (Lois) Westendorf of Des Moines; three brothers: Vernon and Kermit of Grafton, and Gene of St. Ansgar.

Burial was in the Grafton cemetery in Grafton.
