A Memorial Mass for Ronald A. Schwab, age 53, of Osage, Iowa, was held Friday, April 21, 2006, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. John Moser officiating. Inurnment was at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Ron died Monday, April 17, 2006, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, following a lengthy illness.

Ron was born January 9, 1953, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Alex and Ann (Kloberdanz) Schwab. He graduated from Osage High School in 1971.

On April 27, 1974, Ron married Elaine Thome, his high school sweetheart, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. Ron and Elaine were just a few weeks away from celebrating their 32nd wedding anniversary. Ron was a skilled tradesman. He was also a talented musician, who played in many local bands in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

Ron was a quiet, kind, and thoughtful person, who often showed his great love for his wife and daughters by surprising them with gifts, flowers, and other meaningful gestures.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ron is survived by his wife, Elaine (Thome) Schwab of Osage; two daughters, Kristy Miller and her husband Kenn of New Richmond, Wisc.; and Jessica Schwab, a student at Luther College in Decorah; two brothers, Phil and Paul Schwab of Osage; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were made by Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, Iowa.
