Funeral services for Lottie E. Lewis, age 101, of Osage, Iowa, were held Monday, April 17, 2006, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage, with Rev. Dr. J. Samuel Subramanian officiating. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
Lottie died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
She was born June 14, 1904 on the family farm near Little Cedar, Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of August and Augusta (Hensel) Schmarzo, Sr. She worked as a local telephone operator. Lottie married Earl Lewis in 1921. They owned and operated the Midway Cafe in Osage. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, six sisters and four brothers.
Lottie is survived by two nephews, Kenneth Schmarzo of Charles City and Gordon (Donna) Schmarzo of Manning; several great-nieces and nephews.
