Memorial Services for Helen J. Green, 68, of Osage, were held Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father John Moser officiating.

Inurnment was in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Helen passed away Tuesday evening, April 11, 2006 at Mitchell County Regional Health Center following a brave battle with cancer.

Helen was born Wednesday June 16, 1937 in Austin, Minnesota, to Russell and Rose Walter. She graduated form St. Augustine High School in 1955. She married Marshal Green on April 4, 1959 in Austin, Minn. He passed away in 2004. Helen worked for many years and retired from Home Trust Bank in Osage. She was active in Relay-for-Life, the American Cancer Society, and Sacred Heart Church.

Helen is survived by four daughters: Marsha (Mike) Stricker of Orchard, Iowa; Mary Jo (Steve) Ruehlow of Osage, Iowa; Marlys (Jim) Wells of Boone, Iowa; Jackie McManus of Urbandale, Iowa; and one son, Jim Green, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.; her 10 dear grandchildren: Jerad, Shannon, Amber, Ashlyn, Alex, Chloe, Sam, Alyssa, Derek, and Marshal; and her one new great-grandchild, Austin.

Also surviving are five brothers: Bernard (Dorothy) Walter, William (Carolyn) Walter, Jerome (Mary) Walter, Doug (Sue) Walter, Dan (Kathy) Walter; two sisters: Pat Walter and, Mary Jane (Richard) Diggins; and her mother-in law Marge Green.

The Cremation Society of Eastern~Central~Western Iowa assisted with the arrangements.
