A Mass of Christian Burial for Michael "Hoss" Simon, age 34, of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, and formerly of the Stacyville, Iowa area, will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in the Visitation Cemetery.

Michael died Saturday March 11, 2006, near Winter, Wisconsin, of injuries he received in a snowmobile accident.

He was born September 30, 1971, at Osage, Iowa, the son of Wilbur and Charlotta (Winkels) Simon. He attended Visitation Catholic School in Stacyville, graduated from Osage High School in 1990, and graduated from Dakota County Technical College in Rosemont, Minnesota, with a degree as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was currently employed at Truck Crane Service and Phillippi Equipment Company in Eagan, Minnesota. "Hoss" was always willing to help people.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Michael is survived by his parents, Wilbur and Charlotta Simon, Stacyville; three sisters: Audrey (Robert) Umstead, Orchard, June (David) Retterath, McIntire, Carol (Jason) Tesch, Carpenter; two brothers: Terry Simon, Hastings, Minn., Ricky (Christal) Simon, St. Paul, Minn.; two nieces; one nephew; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Arrangments were made by Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, inOsage, Iowa (641-732-3706.)
