Funeral services for Borghild Sorlie, age 102, of Osage, Iowa, will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2006, at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Avenue, Osage, with Rev. R. Dawson Tornes officiating.
Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery. Borghild died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Borghild was born September 23, 1903, near Osage, the daughter of Lars and Maren (Lund) Sorlie. She graduated from Osage High School and took a year of Normal Training. In 1927, she began teaching in rural schools. In 1934, she started working for the ASCS Government Office, working there until her retirement in 1964. She was a life long member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She continued to be a local historian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters and three brothers.
Borghild is survived by three Nieces, Lois (Chuck) Ruehlow, Osage, Margaret (John) Lattimore, San Antonio, Texas, Elizabeth Vulk, Osage; two Nephews, Loren (Barb) Berge, Osage; Arthur (Connie) Berge, Osage.
Arrangements were made by Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, Iowa.
