MILLS COUNTY TRIBUNE
DATED APRIL 30, 1903:

OLD PIONEERS
PASS AWAY

Brief mention was made last week of the death of Henry Evernham, Sr., which took place the night of April 22d at his home northeast of Glenwood in Oak township. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Baptist church of which deceased was a member, conducted by the former pastor, Rev. F. W. Parsons, now of Mason City. The funeral was largely attended, especially by old neighbors and friends by whom he was held in high esteem.

Mr. Evernham was born in Monmouth county, new Jersey, Oct. 8, 1815, being consequently in his 88th year. He was married June 15, 1839,to Euphemia Butcher, who survives him. This is certainly a remarkably long period of continuous wedded life---nearly 64 years. The family had resided in these parts for over 25 years. Beside the wife four sons survive him, all thrifty and well-to-do citizens in Glenwood and vicinity. They are: Amos, Furman H., Henry and Ellison Evernham.
