Mrs. Clara Haines Stark, 72, a former resident of this community, passed away at her home in Otterbien, Calif., Friday, December 27, after an illness of ten days. Funeral services were held the following Monday, and burial was made there.

Mrs. Stark was the daughter of the late Jonathan Haines, and was born in Henry county, Iowa and came with her parents at an early age to Mills county. The family located in the Hillsdale community where they resided for many years.

She was married to Rev. Chas. Stark, a pastor at the Hillsdale church for a number of years. They moved to Kansas and twelve years ago went to California. Mr. Stark preceded her in death five years ago.

She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Emma Kelly of Pomona, Calif., Mrs. Ada Boyd of Gladbrook, Ia., Mrs. Della Reasoner and Mrs. Nona McDole of this city, and one brother, Evert Haines of Spencer, Ia.
