Services in Carson for Archie Sivers

Funeral services were held Monday, January 20, at 2 o'clock for Archie Sivers, at the family home in Carson, Iowa, conducted by the Rev. H.O. Rundell, pastor of the Presbyterian church of that city, and attended by a large concourse of friends, bespeaking the high esteem in which he was held by all who knew him. The room was banked with beautiful floral offerings. Interment was made in the family lot at Carson, the following long time friends serving as pallbearers, Clarence Parker, Cecil Luxford, George Killinger, Russell Forbus, Condit Prindle and Wayne Carr.

Archie Sivers was well known in this community being the son of the late M.r and Mrs. John Sivers pioneer residents who located just north of Glenwood in an early day. Here at the old Sivers home Archie was born October 20, 1870, and grew to young manhood, later moving to Oakland, Ia., where on December 7, 1897 he was united in marriage with Miss Avis Perry. The young couple established a home on a farm near Oakland, later moving to Carson, Ia., where he held a clerical position in the Mosely-Chase Bank for several years after which he started in the furniture and undertaking business. He operated this business for 35 years. For the past nine years he has been confined to his home by paralysis but continued the management of his business until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Avis and three sons, John of Oakland, Ia., Warren at Denver and Roy at Ault, Colo., and numerous other relatives.

Those from Glenwood in attendance at the service were his aunt and husband, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Gettler, also Mr. and Mrs. Edd Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. B.N. Maxwell.
