Services Thursday for Mrs. Price

Funeral services were held this Thursday afternoon in Raynor's chapel for Mrs. Vern Price, 60, who suffered a stroke on Wednesday of last week in the Prather home of this city where she was employed and who passed away Saturday in a Council Bluffs hospital where she had been taken after having been stricken.

Mary Jane Johnson was born Nov. 24, 1881 at Pacific Junction where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Vern Price and to this union six children were born, four of whom survive. These are Mrs. Merl Groff and Edward of Omaha, Nebr., Clarence of Plattsmouth, and Mrs. Lyle Neburn of Bissailia, Calif. Glen and Cecil preceded her in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Price spent most of their life in Pacific Junction, where he passed away in 1932. Since then she has made her home with her son Clarence at Plattsmouth.

Besides her immediate family, she leaves two brothers and one sister, Henry and Edward Johnson of Pacific Junction, Mrs. Jess Hurd of Neola, Iowa, thirteen grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

In 1923 Mrs. Price was baptised in the Glenwood Christian church and took membership in the Methodist church at Pacific Junction. She was a true christian, devoted wife and mother and a kind friend and neighbor who will be greatly missed by relatives and friends alike.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.S. Reel of the Glenwood Christian church. Music for the service consisted of vocal selections by Ruth Miller, accompanied by Mrs. Dorsey Roll. The floral offerings were cared for by Mrs. Allen Watts and Miss Esther Olson. The pallbearers were Gene Snodgrass, Lee Piper, Ed Kohrell, Dorsey Roll, Cale Fisher, and Art Collins. The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery.
