Many paid Tribute To memory Of Lad At Services Sunday

Classmates of Keith Bishop Served as Flower Girls and Pallbearers. Body Laid to Rest in Malvern Cemetery.

One of the largest groups of persons ever to assemble for a funeral service in this city gathered at the James Funeral Home Sunday afternoon as a tribute of respect to the memory of a well known lad of this community whose life had been snuffed out in a most unfortunate yet unavoidable accident.

Keith Edwin Bishop, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Bishop of this city, was born here January 23, 1927, and passed away at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs on July 23, 1942, from injuries sustained when he fell under the wheels of a wagon on which he was riding to work on the highway north of Pacific Junction shortly after noon that day. Death came without his ever having regained consciousness.

He was a genial, likeable lad who had made many friends among those of his own age and among persons of older years. He had graduated from junior high school last spring and had he lived would have been a high school freshman this fall.

He is survived by his parents, three brothers, Perry, Jr., in England, Don and Fred at home and one sister, Marlene at home, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bishop of Glenwood, many other relatives and a host of friends.

The service was conducted by Dr. Frederick W. Long, pastor of the Glenwood Congregational church.

Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. Edwin Fleer, Neils Lawson and Noreen Murphy.

Those who assisted with the beautiful and abundant floral tributes were all his classmates,Ellen Dusenberry, Patty Boyer, Ayleen Stivors, Shirley Heckman, Betty Shepard, Helen Meredith, Eldene Wreidt and Loreen Pollitt.

The pallbearers were also classmates---Leo Osterholm, Wayne Clites, Darrel Drake, Kenneth Taylor, Donald Davis and Calvin Detlef.

The body was laid to rest in the Malvern cemetery.
