Funeral Services For Mrs. Alexander

Well Known Former Resident Passed Away at Home of Daughter in Anderson---Burial in Glenwood Cemetery.

Margaret Bishop, daughter of George and Mary Bishop, was born in Warren county, Iowa, May 29, 1865. She grew to young womanhood there and on December 12, 1883, was united in marriage to Morgan Alexander. Eight children blessed this union. Four children preceded the mother in death. They were Walter Ray, age 17 months; Lucy Isabelle, age 19 years; Bessie Hazel, age 21 years; and one daughter passed away at birth. Mr. Alexander departed this life May 21, 1933.

She came to Glenwood with her family from Warren county 55 years ago and has since lived in Mills county until last March. She was affiliated with the Methodist church. Mrs. Alexander was a loving wife and mother and devoted her entire life to her home and loved ones.

In March of this year she went to Anderson when her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Aubry, moved there. After years of failing health, she passed away in the home at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 20 days.

She is survived by one son, Willard of Glenwood, and three daughters, Mrs. Mattie Doan of Anderson, Mrs. Carrie Smay of Bartlett and Mrs. Mabel Aubry of Anderson; five grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. George Banks, Cul De Sac, Ida.; Mrs. Will Banks of Indiana, Iowa and one brother, Elmer Bishop of Indianola, Iowa.

Services were held Tuesday in Anderson. The Rev. and Mrs. Kivett of the Burr Oak Church were in charge of the services.

Music was furnished by Marie Young and Mildred Clary of the Faith Home in Tabor.

Those who served as pallbearers were Edwin Greedy, Clarenes Peeler, Free Howrey, John Wise, Harry Alexander and Wendall Miller. The Raynor funeral home of Glenwood directed the service.

The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery.

Those from out of town in attendance at the services were Mr. and Mrs. Will Banks, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bishop and John Mauk of Indiana, Iowa; Mrs. L.E. Baker of Savannah, Mo.; Mrs. Orvie Bretz of Marysville, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Blackburn and family of Shenandoah and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Alexander of Farmers City, Mo.
