Services for Prominent Emerson Resident Held

Funeral services for W.E. McGrew, 78, prominent Emerson resident and former member of the Mills county board of supervisors, were held this Thursday afternoon at the Emerson Methodist church with burial in the Emerson cemetery.

Mr. McGrew passed away in his home in the west part of Emerson Tuesday following an illness of some duration. He was, for many years one of Mills county's prominent farmers and upon retirement from active farm life retained active participation and interest in the affairs of his county and home community as long as his health permitted.

He is survived by Mrs. McGrew, two sons, Dallas of Emerson, and Melvin, of Williamsburg, a daughter, Mrs. Guy Jordan, of Emerson, three sisters, Mrs. Clara McDowell of Emerson, Mrs. John Cox of Sutherland, Nebraska and Mrs. Alice Sturgeon of Kansas.
