February 15, 1912Mr. and Mrs. Carl Baxter are called to mourn the loss of their infant son, Harold.
The little one was taken sick last week, and it was deemed best to take him to the hospital. So accompanied by Dr. Chrisly they took him to the Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs, where he was operated on for strangulated hernia. At first it was thought he had survived the operation alright, but he was hardly strong enough to stand it, and passed away a few hours later.
The little one was but two and one half weeks old, but had already entwined his life so deeply into their hearts and affections that his death means a great loss to them.
The remains were brought back to Hastings and brief services held at the C. H. Baxter home, Tuesday morning conducted by Rev. M. A. Gable after which they were taken to Randolph for burial. Mr. and Mrs. Baxter have our sympathy.
