A very unfortunate accident took the life of a highly respected Mills County resident Tuesday when Ezra Speck, 48, passed away in the Jennie Edmundson hospital from injuries sustained last Friday. Mr. Speck was sawing wood at his home and it was thought that a stick of wood was thrown up into his face, causing severe nose and head injuries. The body was removed to the Raynor Funeral home and funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon from the Speck home at 1:30 o'clock and from the Mineola Lutheran church at 2 o'clock with the Pastor Rev. O.C. Bierman in charge. Interment will be made in the Mineola cemetery.

Immediate survivors are his wife and three children, Mary Margaret 7, Paul Eggert 5, and Stephen Julius 2.

Also surviving are two brothers, Henry of Tracy, California, and Max of Milliard, Nebraska, as well as three sisters Anna of Denver, Minnie of Omaha and Mrs. Albert Koop of Mitchell, South Dakota.
