Suicide at Boone, Ia. July 8, 1876

Mr. H.C. Robinson, known to most of the citizens of our county through his connection with the Mills County Chronicle committed suicide by shooting himself through the head. The following note which gives no explanation of the causes leading to this terrible consummation was found in his room.

Oh, good friends goodbye one and all! The public will learn through the press the cause of my death. My dying request is that my body be buried at Boone, as I cannot think of letting my friends see my maimed body. My home is in Malvern, Mills County, Iowa.
