February 7, 1911Mrs. Myrtle Bomer died Jan. 30 at Fresno, Cal., of diphtheria three days after being taken with the disease.
She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Slaughter, northeast of Glenwood, in Ingraham township, and was born and grew to womanhood in this neighborhood. She was about 36 years old. She was married some 16 years ago to James Bomer, and soon after they took up field work in the Salvation Army. Later they were with the Volunteers, and Mrs. Bomer was enabled to assist greatly in this work by her singing, having a strong and musical voice.
She was a member of the Glenwood Baptist church. They have been living recently at Fresno, and the burial was there. Mr. Bomer survives her, with son Harvey, about 12 years old. She was at the time of her death in the employ of the World's Faith Missionary Association.
