Mrs. Malinda J. Shoop died Jan. 26, 1911, at the home of her daughter Mrs. M.I. McFarland, near Malvern, Iowa. Her maiden name was Malinda J. Judah, and she was born Dec. 6, 1828, in Laurence County, Indiana.

She moved with her parents to Buchanan County, Missouri, in 1841.

She joined the M.E. church at the age of 15 years and remained a faithful member until her death.

In 1846 she was married to Henry K. Shoop. To this union were born ten children, four children of whom are living. They are William A. of Deer Trail, Colo.; Daniel G. of Decatur, Neb.; W. Wayne of Laurel, Mont.; and Mrs. Martha McFarland of Malvern, with whom she made her home.

Mr. Schoop died about six years ago. There are 39 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild living. She also leaves two brothers and one sister. They are: William Judah of Omaha and Eli Judah and Mrs. Starr of Hastings.

The funeral services were conducted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. McFarland Jan. 29, by R.W. Matheny of the Malvern M.E. church. It was largely attended by old friends and neighbors.
